Important Camera and Accessory Information 

OpenEye’s camera model number scheme is designed to simplify the process of pairing cameras with compatible mounting accessories. The model number scheme gives you all the important information about the camera upfront, including accessory compatibility, indoor/outdoor, housing style, resolution, and camera-based analytics functionality. 

OpenEye Camera Models 

Every OpenEye Camera is identified by a line of letters and numbers. 

The first two numbers after OE-C will indicate the series which is shared by both camera and compatible accessories. This means all 30-series accessories are compatible with 30-series cameras and all 20-series accessories are compatible with 20-series cameras. 

There are also some universal camera accessories that work with multiple camera models, such as the pole mount kit and waterproof adapter. Those will be identified as series 00.

Series

Series identifies the base of the camera and compatible mounting accessories

ID-1

A unique identifier for housing or hardware

ID-2

A secondary identifier for cameras of the same series, type or resolution. Odd numbers indicate indoor and even numbers indicate outdoor models

Type

B – Bullet
D – Dome
F – Fisheye
M – Multi-imager
T – Turret
P – PTZ
S – Specialty

Resolution

Maximum resolution in MP

Smart

S – cameras with analytics

Revision

Identifies different revisions of the same mode; e.g. a chipset change requires different firmware, but housing and specs are unchanged.

OpenEye Cloud Cameras have a slightly different naming convention than other OpenEye camera models. The table below breaks down the meanings of the characters:
