OpenEye will release their new high definition analog cameras next month at the ISC West trade show for users.
Liberty Lake, WASH. – November 8, 2018 – OpenEye, a leading provider of cloud managed video surveillance solutions, announces the release of Smart Compression for OpenEye cameras. Included in the latest firmware release, Smart Compression is a dynamic codec that can significantly reduce the amount of storage needed to meet video retention requirements. A firmware update is also available for current model OpenEye cameras in the field to add Smart Compression.
Smart Compression technology on OpenEye cameras lets users record more video without increasing the storage size of their recorder or it can reduce system costs by meeting retention requirements while using a system with smaller drives. To increase the number of days of video storage, a user can enable Smart Compression instead of having to purchase a storage upgrade.
Enabling the Smart Compression option reduces storage requirements by up to 70% while maintaining high-resolution video and preventing a perceptible reduction in video quality. OpenEye HD IP cameras with Smart Compression allows users to save money and still meet video retention and resolution requirements.
