Strengthen security with active deterrence in OpenEye Web Services, discouraging unwanted behavior before it escalates.
OpenEye, a global leader in video surveillance and cloud-managed security solutions, is excited to announce active deterrence solutions, available in OpenEye Web Services (OWS) and on supported OpenEye cameras.
Active Deterrence in OWS, including white light and audio playback, helps strengthen security by discouraging unwanted behavior before it escalates. By combining automated white light illumination with audible responses, businesses can leverage a proactive, multi-layered security solution, drawing attention to suspicious activity as it occurs to help de-escalate critical incidents and reduce the number of overall threats.
With active deterrence solutions in place, businesses can trust that their locations are secured around the clock through a range of powerful features and benefits.
Active deterrence discourages suspicious or unwanted behavior with automatic white light activation triggered by alert conditions in OWS, including person and vehicle detection, other analytic events, and sensor-based events. Deterrence behavior can be further customized with strobe or solid light modes and adjustable activation duration, providing greater flexibility in how organizations deter activity and draw attention to potential incidents.
With audio playback, businesses can audibly discourage suspicious activity as soon as an alert is triggered. Organizations can choose from several preset messages or upload custom audio files to tailor deterrence strategies to each site and use case. Whether warning a trespasser, discouraging graffiti, or drawing attention to after-hours loitering, audio playback adds an immediate and effective response that helps stop incidents before escalation or human intervention is required.
Multi-region alerts enable businesses to configure different responses to how situations are escalated based on the location of the suspected threat within a camera view. Using analytics, the system detects an individual and determines which predefined region they have entered. Each region can trigger a different alert or action. For example, entering an outer region may activate a white light on the camera, moving closer may trigger an audio warning, and entering a restricted region can immediately notify monitoring staff. This creates a layered security approach that ensures events are only escalated to human response when necessary.
Two-way audio capabilities provide an additional layer of deterrence by enabling team members or professional security staff to listen and talk down to individuals seen on camera remotely. When a push alert is triggered, teams can immediately engage using two-way audio to issue warnings, provide instructions, or verbally assess the situation. This capability supports rapid response, helps de-escalate incidents when appropriate, and deters vandalism or unauthorized behavior before it escalates.
Avert incidents before they happen with Active Deterrence in OWS and intelligent video monitoring tools, designed to help you fortify security and respond proactively during the situations that matter most.
