OWS Server Software

Apex Server Software version 2.6 will be made available as a General Release the week of January 30th, 2023.

Release Notes

  • Added analytics-enabled Smart Motion natively within web services. With Smart Motion, users will experience increased accuracy from motion-events resulting in more actionable alerts, less false positives and a reduction in storage requirements. To configure visit, Setup > Camera > Configuration > Motion > enable Smart Motion.
  • Added ONVIF multisensor and encoder support.
  • Added support for AXIS people and vehicle analytic events.
  • Added AXIS two way audio support.
  • Added ability to import and export a CSV file when manually adding cameras within Add Cameras > Import tab to make setup faster and more efficient.
  • Added a virtual keyboard to the local console.
  • Added a 4 channel spot monitor option for the local Linux console.
  • Added the ability to import custom certificates for local connections in Setup > System Settings.
  • Added logic to the j3455 and j1900 CPUs (in recorder models MA, MD, ME, and MV) to disable spot live when smart motion is enabled.
  • Added a two-grid option to the web client.
  • Added IP information for the recorder network interface cards within system logs.
  • Added support for Arecont multisensor cameras to display one sensor in discovery and add all sensors automatically when added to the recorder through Discovery, Manual Add and Import.
  • Added the connection type detail to the system log for when a user connects to the recorder through web services.
  • Added the ability to download the Linux OS logs from the system log page.
  • Added a dialog message to the Manual Add Cameras page that lets the user know "It may take up to a minute to add the camera".

  • Updated the logic of the Analytics tab to be present regardless if the camera supports analytics and added language to the UI to explain this.
  • Updated DMP reader/door event UI within Alerts, Notifications and Event Search for improved usability.
  • Updated the description field in clip exports to Public Note to align with other clients.
  • Updated the default for recorders with internal switches or internal analog encoders to be added through discovery, rather than having Plug-and-Play enabled by default.
  • Updated policy dependencies for web services.
  • Added display message notifying users if a camera only supports rotation mode auto in Setup > General Configuration > Cameras, select the desired camera > Image Settings.
  • Added the ability to set the motion type under Setup > General Configuration > Cameras > Multi-Camera Edit, select the desired camera Next > Recording Options.
  • Added support for additional Arecont camera models.
  • Updated the logic of the timeline bar to display the dark blue sections as continuous recorded video and the light blue sections as motion event video.
  • Fixed an issue that caused the import configuration to not display a loading spinner during import.

OWS Cloud Portal

An update to the OWS Cloud Portal will be released, Tuesday, February 7th, 2023 at 9 PM PST.

Release Notes

  • Improved stability and security.
  • Improved the user experience and details shown for End Users under Management >Integrations > SSO Type > Troubleshooting.
  • Added the ability for all Channel Partners to have access to the Order and Shipping Report. If an CP account is not configured properly, the user accessing the report will be instructed to reach out to their OpenEye sales representative. 
  • Updated the UI for the mobile version of the Cloud Web Client for improved usability. 
  • Added a new requirement for End User Decision Maker Postal Code when creating new End User accounts via Add New Account button on Customer Accounts page for Channel Partners. The Postal Code is now mandatory for United States Country.
  • Updated the logic for the End User Decision Maker Postal Code and Channel Partner Decision Maker Postal Code fields to be hidden for the End User when they are managed by a Channel Partner. 
  • Fixed an issue that caused Out of Service recorders to be displayed on the recorder list in the Cloud Web Client.
  • Fixed an issue that caused Seconds to not display in the Date/Time picker when exporting video clips from the Cloud Web Client.
  • Fixed an issue that caused the Clear Active Alerts function to not clear any active alerts when a user navigated to Alerts > Alert Rules > select a rule to edit > General Info > Clear All Active Alerts button.
  • Fixed an issue that caused the View Recorded Video permission to be required under Recorder Permission to view Thumbnail Report images for recorders on Apex Server Software version 2.6 or above.
  • Fixed an issue that caused the System Design Tool to incorrectly calculate and display the license count for OpenEye Cameras. 
  • Fixed an issue that caused the recorder values in the System Design Tool to not update after adding a camera to the recorder. 
  • Fixed an issue that caused some accounts to show no recorders when accessing EU > Management > Recorders.

OpenEye Camera Firmware version IPC-B6202.5.82.C055118.NB.221228 was made available on January 27th, 2023.
