How Can I Fix a Camera with a Bad Video Signal?

These are a few methods to attempt to fix a camera with a bad video signal.

  • Check the termination switches on the back of the unit (above port 16, only on 8 and 16 Channel x240 machines).

  • Change the combfilter settings in vFormat utility (Start -> Programs -> Openeye ->vFormat).

  • Check the power connections or line lock settings of the camera.

  • Determine whether the camera has a bad video signal on a different port, or if the signal is bad on one port. This can be indicative of a termination switch or combfilter setting versus a bad camera signal or camera power issue.
