What's Coming Up in Cybersecurity for OWS?

Often one of the weakest links in an organization’s cybersecurity is users not following policy or not including their video surveillance system in their security policies. One of the benefits of OpenEye Web Services is that it helps automate and standardize security policies for users and organizations. OWS includes explicit features like multifactor authentication, remote client access controls, and granular user groups as well as functions like lost password retrieval, roaming profiles, single sign-on, and no port forwarding or open inbound port requirements. These features make the tasks of managing access and securing networks easier so they actually get done and are kept current over time.

One of the weakest links in an organization’s cybersecurity is users not following policy or not including their video surveillance system in their security policies.

We are working on developing a new Policies function for our platform that takes this concept even further. Administrators will be able to create standardized security and operational policies that are automatically applied through user, recorder and camera groups. OWS Policies will further streamline the cybersecurity process and helps administrators enforce standard settings across their deployments. We have plans for this new feature mapped out with a long list of features and will continue to add more in subsequent versions after its initial release.
