OpenEye Web Services Passes 5000 Managed Devices

Liberty Lake, WASH. - Dec. 10, 2017 - OpenEye, a leading provider of cloud managed video surveillance solutions, announces that OpenEye Web Services (OWS), its cloud managed video surveillance platform, has exceeded the 5000 mark for devices connected to and actively managed by the service.

"This is a major milestone for the OWS platform and something we are very excited about" says Rick Sheppard, OpenEye 's CEO. "After the initial introductory period in 2016, we have continued to see active user adoption increase at a rapid pace and believe that the next 5000 is just around the corner."

OpenEye Web Services was announced by OpenEye at ISC West in 2016 and released later that year. It was one of the industry 's first surveillance solutions to leave recording onsite while pushing all key management functions to the cloud. Although initially developed for multi-recorder, multi-site installations, OWS has been widely adopted by customers large and small who recognize the value in a cloud-managed video surveillance solution.

"OWS has exceeded our expectations for growth this early in the platform's launch," exclaimed Ian Siemer, Director of Product Management. "The market obviously needed a solution with the convenience and flexibility of the cloud and the reliability of local recording; we are happy to provide that for them."

There is more to be seen from OpenEye and OWS in 2018, with major updates to the cloud service including significant integrations with 3rd party providers to further expand the platforms functionality.
