OpenEye announced today that it has been recommended for ISO 9001registration by its independent auditor at Underwriters Laboratory (UL). This recommendation for registration comes after a four day extensive evaluation of PC Open’s quality management system. “Quality has always been the number one priority so I’m pleased to see our system finally gain the international recognition it deserves,” said Jack Lynch, PC Open’s Chief Operations Officer.
ISO 9001:2000 has become the leading international standard for quality management requirements. PC Open’s quality management system is audited semi-annually by an independent and accredited registrar (UL) to ensure conformity with the ISO 9001:2000 standard. The ISO 9000 family is primarily concerned with "quality management". This means what the organization does to (1) fulfill the customer's quality requirements & (2) applicable regulatory requirements, (3) while aiming to enhance customer satisfaction, and (4) achieve continual improvement of its performance in pursuit of these objectives.
UL has already earned the distinction of being America’s leading quality registrar and is accredited by Raad voor Accreditatie (RvA) in the Netherlands, the Registrar Accreditation Board (RAB) in the United States, Standards Council of Canada (SCC), the United Kingdom Accreditation Services (UKAS), the Instituto Nacional de Metrologia, Normalização e Qualidade (InMetro) in Brazil and the Japanese Accreditation Board (JAB).
