August 1, 2006, Spokane WA
- OpenEye Inc., announced today the release of their new RediWatch POS
Integration Software. A software upgrade for OpenEye DVR and NVR systems,
RediWatch enables integration with POS Registers, RS-232 Based POS solutions,
and High Volume Checkout Systems.
“Many of OpenEye’s customers have requested POS integration with our
products,” says Brent Gable VP of Sales, ”The use of surveillance in
conjunction with tracking of POS data has been proven to effectively reduce
shrinkage caused by employee and customer theft, identifying sweet hearting,
under rings, voids, no-sales, and returns. ”
Using RediWatch, transactions can be viewed as they happen, overlaid on
existing video channels. Alerts can be configured, allowing instant
notification of events such as no sales, voids, unique product IDs, and
prices. Video searches can be performed based upon a specific item purchased
or even the amount of change rendered at a transaction.
Remote search and monitoring of POS transactions and video will also be
enabled using RediWatch in conjunction with OpenEye’s Radius Multi-Site
Management Software. Radius will allow users to manage multiple registers
in multiple locations anywhere throughout the world. Connect to RediWatch
using Radius from a laptop at home, a hotel room out of town, or any other
location with Internet access.
RediWatch will support both TCP/IP and RS-232 connections to POS registers
and other POS systems, providing enhanced functionality to OpenEye’s DVR
Server, NVR, Radius, and Backup Viewer software applications.
