July 14, 2005, Spokane WA - OpenEye Inc. announced today a new DVR Remote Software
Plug-in for Microsoft® Windows® Media Center Edition 2005. Developed by its sister company SecurGen LLC.,
the new Remote Software Plug-in is now available for purchase through OpenEye and its Distributors and will
work with all X-Series Digital Video Recorders (DVRs).
Designed for Windows® Media Center Edition 2005 the new Remote Software Plug-in
allows users to view a DVR's live video and search recorded video from multiple TVs in their home using
a Media Center Remote Control and a Media Center PC or Extender.
"There is an emerging demand for home technology products
such as Home Automation, Media, and Video Security. This is an opportunity to provide
end users with access to the two most commonly desired features of the OpenEye DVR, Live
Video and Search, while allowing the DVR to be locked away in a secure location." said
Tim Bybee, OpenEye's Special Projects Manager. "The convenience of being able to access
these features through your entertainment system and over multiple TVs throughout the house
is obvious and something we hope our customers are very excited about."
The Remote Software Plug-in is available starting July 1st and may be purchased
with one of SecurGen's own Media Center PCs or separately to be installed on any Media Center PC running Windows® Media Center Edition 2005.
