  As OpenEye has grown, so has our involvement in the community. OpenEye prides itself as a responsible and active member in our community by contributing financially to a variety of local projects and by volunteering our time to worthy events. In 2005 OpenEye employees volunteered more than 800 hours to regional community projects and this number is expected to exceed 1000 hours in 2006. Here are just a few types of community oriented involvement OpenEye is actively involved in.
 
  Supporter of community cleanup efforts.
     
  OpenEye works with SL Start to employ individuals who are developmentally delayed. www.slstart.com
     
  Supporter of youth academic and athletics teams.
     
  Volunteers of Public Television fund raising efforts.
     
  Sponsor of food drives for regional food banks.

  Annual donations to charitable organizations.

OpenEye was proud to host its third annual Community Service Event, in October 2008. Collecting the equivalent of over 17,000 lbs of food for local food banks, OpenEye closed its offices on the 13 th of October so its employees could harvest and contribute an additional 6,000 lbs of fruit from a local orchard and volunteer at a donation processing center. Contributions were badly needed this year as many regional food banks have been suffering a reduction in donations due to the current state of the economy.

OpenEye credits the continuing success of its annual Community Service Event to its employees who so diligently commit their time and efforts to make this event happen every year and to the generous Inland Northwest community at large. "We are proud to live in a community where the people are so willing to lend a helping hand," said OpenEye's CEO Rick Sheppard. "Together we can help bring a brighter day to a few less fortunate individuals."
